Green Party Delegates Cycle to Conference |

The Green Party annual conference takes place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Dundalk, and some of the Green Party members and delegates are cycling from Dublin tomorrow Friday morning. The Dundalk Cycling Alliance will be there to greet them.
The group will be leaving from Customs House Quay in Dublin at 8 a.m., will be in Ballbriggan by 9, Drogheda by 11 and aims to arrive Dundalk by 1 p.m. If you want to join us in welcoming the Greens and to promote safe cycling please come along. You might even like to join the Greens in Castlebellingham on Friday at 12 noon for the "last mile" of the cycle. |

 The community of Westport are to be congratulated. They campaigned long and hard to have an old disused railway line that ran from the Harbour to Westport town converted to a quiet walk/ cycleway so that people can now walk and cycle freely without being anxious about cars passing at speed. Hopefully mothers in Dundalk will be as comfortable as this mother in taking their daughters for a cycle.

 Dundalk Cycling Alliance held a cycle rally on Saturday 14th October 2006 outside the Millennium Centre, Dundalk to highlight the importance of and need for cycle lanes in Dundalk. Liam Kieran, Chairperson of Dundalk Cycling Alliance and Noel Lennon, Chairperson of Dundalk Town Council spoke on the day and were joined by supporters and members. |
